Paediatric First Aid (2 Day)
This course has been developed for those who are working with children and infants. It will be of particular interest to teachers, child minders, crèche assistants, playgroup personnel and anyone else who has a responsibility for their welfare whilst in your care. The purpose of the qualification is for the learner to attain the knowledge and practical competence required to deal with a range of paediatric first aid situations.
Course Overview
This 2 day course builds on the 1 day Emergency Paediatric First Aid at work course.
Dealing with childrens first aid emergencies can be a daunting prospect for an untrained employee, but after attending a Fat Panda Paediatric Emergency First Aid Training course you will feel more confident in handling these situations.
This 2 day course contains a combination of theory, legislation and practical elements when dealing with babies and children. Smaller groups allow time for more individual training as required, we make it interesting, enjoyable and fun, whilst building your confidence.

A comprehensive fully illustrated training book to supplement the Paediatric First Aid at Work course is included in your training pack.

The course Instructor is responsible for determining whether delegates pass or fail based on practical and oral assessment throughout the course, i.e. by observation and oral questioning. The Instructor will only award a pass if they believe that delegates have displayed the requisite understanding and competencies at the end of each session throughout the day. There is a written assessment at the end of the 2 days.

The HSE require 12 hrs contact training hours for this course, which can be delivered in over 2 days.
Delegates must attend all sessions during the day to be eligible for successful assessment, which is done by continuous observation and questioning during the course. There is also a written paper at the end of the 2 days.
All employees who work with babies and children who require a certified 2 day Paediatric First Aid at work qualification.
On successful completion of this course, you will receive a Level 3 (RQF) First Aid at Work Certificate, which is valid for three years. This course is Regulated by Ofqual under their Regulated Quality Framework (RQF) and accredited by the FAA. All our courses are designed to follow the guidelines set by the Health & Safety Executive and Resuscitation Council UK. It also complies with the statutory guidelines published by the DfE and the EYFS framework.
